U13 Division 2 Semi Final Hills Knights vs Rouse Hill Rams

Coming off a tough defeat the week before, Rouse Hill Rams arrived at their U13 Division 2 Semi Final against Hills Knights needing to rebound quickly. An early goal provided exactly the response they were looking for, but what followed was a tight and often scrappy finals contest where neither side was able to completely take control.

The game became quite choppy as possession regularly changed hands. Neither side was able to establish much rhythm through midfield, with promising passages of play often breaking down before quickly heading back in the opposite direction.

That made the counterattacking moments particularly important. Both teams looked capable of creating something when space opened up, producing plenty of movement and one-on-one contests to capture even when clear opportunities in front of goal were harder to find.

Rams carried their narrow 1–0 advantage into half time, leaving everything still to play for.

The second half followed much the same pattern. Neither team could really dictate the pace of the game, with possession continuing to move backwards and forwards and both sides looking most dangerous when they could quickly transition onto the counter.

Hills Knights continued searching for an equaliser, while the Rams looked for the second goal that would give them some breathing room. Instead, that solitary first-half strike became increasingly valuable as the minutes disappeared.

With a Grand Final place on the line, the Rams defence continued to hold firm. Every clearance, challenge and disrupted attack helped protect the narrowest of margins until the final whistle eventually confirmed a 1–0 victory.

It might not have been a game defined by flowing football or a long list of goals, but finals are ultimately about finding a way through.

For the Rams, that means a place in the U13 Division 2 Grand Final — and an immediate opportunity for a rematch against the Norwest side that defeated them just a week earlier.
